About Jen
Counsellor, BACP registered, 3 years' experience. Jen (Jennifer) Luby helps people dealing with stress, anxiety, depression, relationship and family concerns, trauma and abuse, grief, and parenting challenges.
She uses a person-centred, relational and trauma-informed approach. That means sessions focus on the client’s experience and the relationship between client and counsellor. Jen draws from a range of therapeutic models and works collaboratively so people can explore what works for them.
Jen has worked with people who identify as neurodivergent, including autistic and neurodivergent presentations, and with clients from LGBTQ+ communities. She pays attention to how identity and background affect everyday coping and relationships.
Her training includes counselling studies at the University of Cumbria, a First-Class Honours degree from the University of Central Lancashire, and a Postgraduate Diploma with Merit from the University of Leeds. She is a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, BACP.
Sessions are offered in English and Jen does not take international clients at present. The service uses a subscription model that can be cancelled at any time; costs vary with location. To start, people are asked to use the See online therapy options button, complete a short matching questionnaire, and schedule a first session.
Jen engages in regular supervision and continuing learning. Her focus is on helping people name what matters, try practical ways to cope, and build clearer ways of relating to themselves and others.

How her approaches shape online work
Jen describes her practice as person-centred, relational and trauma-informed. Person-centred work means the counsellor follows the client’s agenda and focuses on their experience. It helps when someone needs space to make sense of feelings and decide on next steps.Relational approaches look at patterns between the client and the counsellor to understand how relationships affect mood and behaviour. That can be useful for people who want to notice and change how they relate to others. Trauma-informed ways of working pay attention to how past harm affects current coping and aim to move at a pace the client can manage.
Finding the right approach is part of the work. Jen collaborates with each person to try methods that match their goals and preferences, adjusting as needed based on what helps most.
Session formats are not specified in the biography, so confirm current options before booking. Many people find online sessions help fit counselling into busy routines, by reducing travel and making it easier to have shorter check-ins or regular weekly appointments. Online work also makes it possible to keep continuity of support during life changes, while the counsellor and client focus on practical strategies and relationship patterns rather than location.
